“My idea was simple: I wanted to create a new design resembling a natural curving line that appealed to the eye. Designing the chair came easy, but I struggled to create a chair that would achieve my several goals. Like many other influential designers, such as Jonathon Ives, Deiter Rams, and Philip Starck, I find simplicity most important. All worked from the principle that less is more. I was espec-ially intrigued by Deiter Rams’s theory of “Good Design.” I followed mainly after his 10th principle, “Good design is as little design as possible.” My goals were to keep the design simple, easy, and strong. After several days of brainstorming and sketching ideas, I finally pulled one together. By keeping my shape as well as creating a sound structure, I mocked up a prototype in my father’s shop and found out I had just created a simple but functional chair with no nails, screws, glue or fasteners. It was press fitted from three common household materials, birch plywood, PVC pipes and pipe insulator; and the best thing was, it worked.”    - Adam J. Osiecki
