LUCHAR
Corita Kent, known for being a lot of things like an educator, advocate for social justice, and a designer/artist. For one of my design classes, the class went on to learn about the design trends around the world as the years passed on and one of those design trends was pop art, which Corita Kent's artwork is widely known for. Her use of colors and inspiration from different brands she saw helped her create such colorful, loud, and bold pieces that I personally love seeing.

After learning about her artwork, we had to create a piece inspired by one or more of her art pieces. I decided to draw inspiration from her pieces, "The juiciest tomato of all" (left) and "Yellow submarine"(right). Instead of using the word "TOMATO" I put "LUCHAR" which translates to "to fight" in Spanish. Along with the word I also included some quotes from people of the Latino/Latina/Latinx community that serve as words of encouragement as well.
