Discord Student UA Campaign
A 15 second ad spot targeted at potential student users of Discord. I was tasked with designing a video that showed how Discord could help throughout a typical day in a student's life - from hosting study groups to hobby club to casual video hangouts. The video was animated in C4D and After Effects and was designed to be then cut into different dimensions - 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, etc.
A big challenge of this project was modeling and rigging Cap, a rogue character designed by my coworker Justin Middendorp. At the time of creation, this was probably the most complicated 3D character I've modelled and rigged to date.
The scarf was created by running cloth simulations on a ruffled donut-shaped disk, and then adhering it to the body shape with Cinema 4D's Surface tag at 50% influence so it would animate with its closest body surfaces as the character moved around.
