DADA
The Dada movement was against war. During 1916-1924 many young artists were pacifists and many of them revolutionaries from all over Europe found refuge in Zurich where Dada was born.
The Dadaist events provoked and hoped for audience to protest. Numerous Dadaist magazines were banned, exhibitions closed, exhibits confiscated and the artist occasionally arrested.
