repurposed Sunflower radio
Project Brief:
My grandparents had been using their old broken 57 year old Phillips radio as a decoration piece in their house ever since it stopped working. Their attachment to it had led to an inability to throw it away as it sat around collecting dust in a corner of their home. Since it was being used as a decoration piece, I decided to actually make it look, and function as one.
Project Goals:
The goal was to fix the hole on top of the radio and add some colour and vibrancy in order to brighten up my grandparents dark living room. I used my grandmothers favourite colours which also matched the colours found in the house. Since the radio was broken and there was very little hope in finding the right parts to fix it, especially in a pandemic, I decided to turn it into a soft light source by inserting a filament bulb and attaching it to connecting wire and plug of the radio.
