One of the rapidly developing spheres of science nowadays is genetics. The world of tomorrow will be filled with companies providing different services, such as genetic diagnostics, and possibly fixing genome of humans and even artificially creating a genome of species. These companies will have a huge impact on the world. With scientists designing life, it will be possible to make more lucrative types of crops and cattle, which will change food patterns forever. The area which I find interesting is enhancing human’s genome. It is a very controversial issue, and if we imagine the society where wealthy people will pay to modify there children, it can lead to a disastrous and unfair stratification of society with talented rich people taking over control in all spheres of jobs. Another thing to consider, is that when people start the colonization of the Solar System, they will be able to use technologies to change the body of colonists to make adaptation in difficult conditions of hostile planets easier. So, that was why I have decided to create a logo for “Hesmondhalgh Genetic Lab” (a made-up company) , which specializes on enhancing genome of human.

I like the final second version of a logo (the right one) more, because it looks more modern. The left final version is very classical and boring. Both logos make the brand to be perceived as trustful, but right version for me looks like a not ageing logo of a big ambitious corporation. Brighter colours, gradient and empty circles without a frame of lines make it stand out.

The next stage was to make some cretative staff with a logo. I have tried several modifications, and then decided to create advertisisng posters for my logo. In thebegininng, I though about my company to be dealing only with human genome. But when creating posters, I have decided that my company would also deal with ehancing plants’ genome, for example for garden flowers and for different crops.
