The Poor Project

The idea behind this artwork is of a metaphor. A metaphor can be described as
“a thing regarded as representative or symbolic of something else”.

Poverty is usually associated with unhappiness, dissatisfaction or frugality. But a seemingly poor person might as well be self-sufficient, content and at peace.

Through this artwork I have tried to depict the term “poor” as abundant, rich and colourful. It is reflective of a thriving environment that helps bring out the insignificance of the annotations associated with the term and gives a novel outlook to it. The artwork represents abundance, charm and statefulness.
