PARASITE
Parasite is a retrofitting process to build our urban infrastructure more sustainable and create a livable place for future generations. This system can adapt in any building typology as a top structure or as a facade system.
The cementitious material containing TiO2 works on a basic simple principle of photocatalysis. The material gets activated under the influence of light and, subsequently, TiO2 oxidizes the pollutants and this phenomenon is known as photocatalysis. The pollutants oxidized get precipitated on the material surface, which can then be removed from the surface by rain or by cleaning/washing by water.
