SWAHILI CULTURAL CONSERVATION
Old Town, Mombasa - Kenya.
Located in the historical coastal town of Mombasa, the project aims to explore and investigate traditional Swahili architectural elements and incorporate them into a modern Fish Market and Aquatic Museum and ultimately preserving the historical character within the area. The project's concept primarily takes advantage of the drastic coastal slope to form a series of stepped terraces that draw users closer to the sea.
