Theme design – difference l harmony
INTRODUCTION
In Thailand, national religion is Buddhism. At Kadejeen community which historic neighborhood in Bangkok have various races including Buddhist, Christian and Muslim.
During surveying this community, I felt the boundaries between the area. Separated by each religious subcommunities.
CONCEPT
The main design’s purpose Is based on the theology of religions that have 3 points about perspective thoughts of people have to other’s religions.
Pluralism – is basically the belief that the world religions are true and equally valid.
Inclusivism – is assert that only one set of beliefs is absolutely true, so other are at least partially true.
Exclusivism – is resembling to Inclusivism but assert that other beliefs are not true.
DESIGN
Meditation room (3rd floor)
- the most concentrated area on the top of
the building.
- meditation are religious activity that every
belief has in common.
Meeting room (2nd floor)
- for religious educational purpose
ex. seminar/group discussion/convention
activity area (ground floor)
- to do something in common without judging
cafe (ground floor)
- for commercial purpose
- to gather people in this building
- to see and recognize the role of each belief
ex. Halal food eating / before meal praying.
