Planning a Family Fun Day this Summer | Gordon Sinclair

With Covid19 keeping everyone inside, people are itching to get back out again. Stay-at-home orders and bans on large public gatherings caused fun outdoor activities to be brought to a halt. However, with the vaccine rollout becoming widespread worldwide, we are beginning to see a hopeful future for returning to normalcy. This summer, you can do many activities with your family to make up for the lost time. Below we will discuss some of the best ways to have a family fun day this summer, as featured in an article on Parents.

Music is the key ingredient to any fun event
Everyone gets pumped up to music, especially kids. There are all sorts of genres you can choose from to make a playlist that will set a great tone for your party. There are many kids’ playlists that are already made and available on different music streaming platforms. Music brings an event from boring to party-central when it’s played. You can have lip-syncing competitions, a dance party, or even play musical chairs to make the most of using music.

DIY Game Day
The best part about kids is how creative they are. They are constantly inventing storylines and different ways of playing with other kids. As a family, you can all come up with various games where you can make the rules and use as many props as you’d like. You can play modified hide-and-seek, pirates, and mermaids, and anything else you come up with that can easily be conveyed using household items and minimal effort.

Be creative with themes
One thing kids love to do is adhere to different themes. They love going to school during spirit week dressed as their favorite superhero and going to Halloween parties at their friends’ houses. Having a themed day is a great way to allow kids to express themselves and have fun with it while doing so. You can also incorporate themes into aspects of the day that do not involve dressing up. You can put up decorations, foods you can make, and other ways to make the theme convincing to the family.
