This was an early concept that changed shape into a different, but similar, idea later on in the collaborative class with 'Brown Jordan.' The idea surrounded a casual standing height 'counter top' that could pull out and reveal four chairs that would provide the housing for its legs in the bar height range. This table could be lowered, and the chairs flipped to provide a lounge/dining atmosphere, and then the table could be lowered once more to provide purely lounge comfort with a coffee table in the middle. All of this would then convert back to the standing height 'counter top' that would house the entire collection underneath it.

(Video at the end to explain the concept)

The table completely stowed away:

The table pulls up and out, and the chairs slide out to allow the table to be set down.

Example of the table set at bar height:

Example of the table in it's fully housed arrangement without the table on top:

Variation on the concept. It would function the same in terms of modularity, but it would be circular and thus allow for the use of rocking chairs for the lounge chairs.

Variation on the seating: These seats would function the same, but would house cushions inside the frame itself to avoid any excess contact with the elements, as well as provide an adaptable/customizable form.
