Course Project: Global Supply Chain Strategy
Project Overview

"Your development of a global supply chain strategy is the centerpiece of this course. You will apply knowledge and skills gained from previous courses in the program and from this course content to focus on creating each segment of the global supply chain of a company of your own creation. The focus of this project is not to create an innovative luxury company, per se. Rather, your goal is to accurately and comprehensively address all aspects of the supply chain, including obtaining materials necessary for production; conducting country and supplier research; and costing for your product, its shipment, and its distribution. Your company may be retail or business-to-business, and your project will work out and detail the mechanics of its strategy from a management perspective.

The scope of this project encompasses the entire supply chain development process, from concept to product delivery. As part of the project, you will identify your company’s target market, develop a product line of three fashion items, learn how to cost the product, identify where to manufacture and retail it, and learn how to distribute it. Your master strategy will be tailored to maximize opportunities and minimize risks while meeting margins with products that are made ethically and responsibly.
This is a team project; however, portions of the project are individual contributions, like the country research.

Your group will work to create an apparel company with a product focus on either knit tops, denim bottoms, woven bottoms, or woven tops (shirts or other). Product categories can be focused on men’s, women’s, teens, or kids but no babies or toddlers."
