Imagining the handwoven rugs in modern homes.

Rugs designed inspired by the skies of Udaipur; the moon, their play of hide and seek behind the mountains and their reflection in the lakes of the beautiful city.

The Rugs were handwoven using textile scrap materials that are the byproduct of the pattern making process of the clothing industry. 

The project imagines these rugs as elements of interior decoration for modern homes, by creating interiors in 3D using Adobe Dimension.

The collection was named Amavasya because of its inspiration from the moon and also because the inlay/tapestry weaving method that's been implemented hides the knots and weft overlaps on the backside of the rug just as how the moon is hidden from us on the new moon nights.
