Project Description
The purpose of this assignment is to experiment with and gain an understanding of various portrait lighting techniques. This is a very basic portraiture project and may not be something a professional photographer will use on a shoot with a client but you will gain exposure to the fundamentals and will be able to build on this going forward.
There are two main parts to this assignment:
Ratio Lighting (5 jpeg photos)
One Rembrandt portrait with an 8:1 ratio (3 stops difference)
One Split portrait with a 4:1 ratio (2 stops)
One Loop portrait with a 4:1 ratio (1 stop)
One Butterfly portrait with a 2:1 ratio (1 stop)
One portrait with 1:1 lighting (no difference)
Stroboscopic Lighting (1 raw photos)
One portrait where the strobe goes off at least three times during one exposure
