Innovation
To start with I started thinking of unique ideas that I could use to create the pattern. So I listed down the various unique methods that I could use to create the pattern and design patterns to get influenced by.
Pattern Drafts
As seen above I tried the Floral pattern and the textural pattern using different Techniques. I tried the floral pattern using Henna, and the blue textural pattern was done using Fevicol and two water colors spread on a sheet and I gave lines on them by spreading the liquid by a comb. The third texture was done by putting drops of paint on the sheet of paper and blowing it with a straw to give the spread. I then used Adobe Photoshop to arrange the design to create a pattern for the fabric using the hand made designs.
Mockups
Reflective Analysis:
Overall it was a fun process to Explore and use different techniques to create the patterns using mixed media design. Specially the fact that we as graphic designers can use so many different things besides just software to create our design. When I created the henna art for the pattern the dried henna on it actually gave the look of embroidery design. Over all it was a fun process to do this project.
