Velvet & Chrome

For Holiday 2010 I was inspired by the visceral reaction one gets when opening a gift they truly love during the holidays. What better way to express that joy visually than to create "jewelry boxes" with spectacular pearls as the center piece?

three sputnik-style chrome chandeliers were suspended just above each tower like snowflakes drifting down from above. The pièce de résistance, a custom-made garland that framed the entire storefront featuring oversized pearl strands encircling silver and white foliage and twinkling lights. The entire piece was joined together by hand-carved replicas of the Mikimoto signature clasp.
