My visit to the capital city of Estonia in May of 2018 began purely on a whim. I had recently stumbled across a list of underrated cities in Europe and Tallinn happened to be one of them. Years before I would watch inverted car chases through these streets on the silver screen, the only mention of Estonia I had ever encountered was as the birthplace of a random stewardess on a cruise ship restaurant. With arguably the most well-preserved old-towns in all of Europe, Tallinn is pure magic. The walls whisper of fairytales, the city itself is surrounded by a centuries-old stone barricade, and elk-stew is ladled out of a barrel for lunch. All sorts of zany characters wander these streets and, if you're lucky enough, you might just find yourself listening to all the tantalizing stories they have to tell.
