Dystopian Statue of Liberty

Project overview: This was one of many (dozens, if not more than a hundred) images created that were used as part of a social media campaign for a livestreamed virtual event. In this case, the goal was the create a dystopian/apocalyptic image showing the United States in a state of overthrow and decay. Using multiple stock images, I composited them together and retouched them to create the broken, dusty, weathered look in this image. Details such as the open panel in the arm holding the torch are original to my work. Two images of the Statue of Liberty were combined so that the head could appear that it had separated and rolled slightly to the side, amplifying the sense of utter collapse. A small person can be seen in the foreground, surveying the scene; this was at the client's request. The original composition had a weathered vehicle parked there.
