I have always wanted a phone that could have an interchangeable camera lens to be able to take professional quality photos without having to take a DSLR or mirror-less lens camera around with me. The 48 megapixel sensor that Nokia has within the Lumia 1020 was begging to have a great piece of glass attached to it.
48MP Sensor + 35mm Carl Zeiss Lens = DSLR quality photographs right in your pocket.
Development started out with two basic ideas.

Change the idea of a Camera Phone
Change the form of the phone.

As I found different routes to take, pushing the form was becoming a priority. Making the form seem fuctional was the challenge I made for myself to evolve my skills and test my attention to detail.
After another round of ideating, I came up with the idea to take two circles and base my design around that. Rounding off the edges to make this phone totally comfortable to use allowed this design to start to blossom into something unique to the market. The idea is great, but the form had to sell the device.

I used inspiration from Anime and Sci-Fi shows to create a product you would see used by the characters as everyday tools.

This is the final design (still being finalized!) :
