Les Miserables book covers

For this project we were tasked to make three book covers with: typography, physical elements, and the designers choice.  Each book is meant to tie in pieces and themes of our chosen book.  

Type Cover

This book uses the colors black and red which are talked about heavily throughout the book. It also uses a stiff and sophisticated font.  There is a hard diagonal line to show the divide of the two sides in the war.  

Physical Cover

This cover was meant to be kept simple to show the beauty of one of the main characters.  It uses bold and high contrast colors to draw attention. 

Designer choice

This cover showcases the life of another main character Jean ValJean. This character ended up in prison because he stole a loaf of bread.  He was then branded with this number.  There is a clear number and a shadow behind it to show no matter what he does he cant change how he was or is.
