BRIEF:
Create an augmented reality A3 poster that features distinctive positive and negative aspect/s of a selected celebratory ritual. Pick one celebratory ritual and critically examine its positive and negative sides. You can choose any celebratory ritual you like.
'WAKE UP & SMEEL THE EMISSIONS'
According to a 2019 Vox report by Gaby Del Valle, “The biggest issue [in the flower industry] is how flowers get from their point of origin to retailers across the country.” During the three week period before Valentine’s Day each year, 360000 metric tons of CO2 is released into the atmosphere from the transportation of roses from Columbia to the US alone. The transportation of Valentine’s Day flowers is an unnecessary and ultimately devastating contributor towards our global carbon footprint.
The ‘Wake Up & Smell the Emissions’ AR campaign poster highlights positives and negatives around Valentine’s Day flowers, generating a new point of view towards giving flowers and encouraging consumers to put thought and care into what flowers or gift they give their significant other on Valentine’s Day.
