Grey Skies Retrospective

Grey Skies Retrospective
Grey Skies is my first completed graphic novel/comic.
It was, and still is, a passion project and means a lot to me personally. The backbone of the story was derived from a personal experience where I had to wrestle with forgiveness. As such, the story includes faith elements as the personal experience that inspired the story was experienced through a lens of faith.

The project started around 2016/2017, and it was initially slated to become a web comic, but evolved into a graphic novel. It was self-published on Lulu.com where digital and physical copies are available.

Concept Art
Early character art and sketches.
Sketches and styling/look experiments.
Backgrounds
I combined my love for 3d graphics and comics in Grey Skies by creating most of the backgrounds in 3d.
Joe's Diner is a restaurant that appears in Chapter 3 of the story.
The left two images is a comparison of an earlier version of the diner (bottom), and the one used in the final (top).
The right two images are render tests of the completed set.
