HP Announces New Line Of Omen And Other Gaming Laptops

HP has launched several new Omen gaming products, including the HP Omen 16 gaming laptop. It’s a reimagining of the HP Omen 15, with a bigger, better screen, upgraded hardware, and some changes to the designs.
An improved Omen 17, a new midrange and budget-friendly gaming laptop brand named HP Victus, and a new 25-inch Omen gaming monitor are among the other highlights of the announcement.

OMEN 16

The HP Omen 16’s main feature is a larger 16.1-inch screen that fits within a standard 15-inch chassis, according to HP. It boasts a 3ms response time and a QHD (2560 x 1440) 165Hz screen. 1080p panels are, of course, also available in more cost-effective versions.
The bezels around the display are relatively narrow, while the bottom chin is still huge. A new hinge, dubbed a “floating display” by HP, sits beneath the bottom bezel.
HP provides an Intel or AMD processor with an Nvidia RTX 30-series graphics card up to an RTX 3070 for a total of 115 watts. On the Intel side, you can purchase up to an 11th-generation Core i7–11800H, while AMD combinations go up to the Ryzen 9 5900HX.
The AMD and Intel models share several features, such as an SD card slot and an HDMI 2.1 connection that supports up to 4K output at 120Hz on approved screens. The Omen 16 has a maximum of 32GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 3,200MHz, and its battery has a capacity of 83Wh.

The AMD variant will cost $1,049.99 and will have a Ryzen 7 5800H processor, an Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti graphics chip, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage. The Intel version will cost $1,149.99 and will include the Core i7–11800H processor, as well as the same storage and RAM as the AMD version, but with the RTX 3060 graphics chip.

OMEN 17

HP’s Omen 17 gaming laptop, on the other hand, is described as a better and powerful gaming laptop. It’s bigger, albeit the chassis has been trimmed down from last year’s model. This time, the overall volume is 8% lower, and the thickness is 10.7% lower.
Users won’t get configuration options, unlike the Omen 16 processor options. The Omen 17 only features the Intel Core i9–11900H with Nvidia’s RTX 3080 Graphic card powered at 165W.

The 17.3-inch display of the Omen 17 can also be upgraded to QHD resolution with a refresh rate of 165Hz.

Otherwise, Omen 17 resembles Omen 16 in appearance, with many of the same design elements and stylings. The keyboard, on the other hand, is unique. The Omen 17 replaces the Omen 16’s standard rubber dome keys with optical switches, which provide a 0.2ms reaction time and 1.7mm of key travel. As a result, the keyboard should be much more tactile. The starting price of Omen 17 will be $1370.

Both the Omen 16 and Omen 17 will start shipping in June this year.
Cooling System On OMEN 16 and 17

Both systems have been updated to include a new thermal system known as Omen Tempest Cooling Technology. They both employ a new fan that is two-thirds the thickness of the Omen 15, allowing for twice as many fan blades. HP claims that the Omen 16 will run 3.2 degrees Celsius cooler than the previous fans and better ventilation, while the Omen 17 will run 5 degrees cooler.

HP VICTUS

HP also unveiled the “Victus” brand, which will be used to market a new line of gaming laptops. In terms of price, performance, and design, it falls between the entry-level HP Pavilion gaming systems and the premium HP Omen.

The first laptop to feature in the Victus line is the 16-inch budget-friendly laptop. You can choose from Intel’s Core i7–11800H or AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800H CPUs and Nvidia’s RTX 3060 or AMD’s Radeon RX 5500M GPUs for this one’s processor and graphics.
You can even get a 1440p display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz.
HP Victus 16 will start at $800 for AMD and $850 for the Intel version. Shipping for Victus 16 will begin in June, similar to Omen 16 and 17.

OMEN 25i Gaming Monitor

With AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync technology, it’s a 24.5-inch FHD IPS monitor with narrow bezels and adaptive sync to remove visual artifacts in games. A 165Hz frame rate, 1ms reaction time, and a color-accurate picture with 90% coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut are also essential features.

The shipping of Omen 25i will begin in July with a price tag of $349.99.
The latest announcement of Gaming laptops and monitors by HP is undoubtedly worth considering if you’re looking to get a new gaming laptop or a setup.
