The first assignment I accomplished in Advanced Illustration was a colored pencil exercise.

 

We were to take a picture and work on it for two weeks only using color pencils and a certain technique. I decided to use a simple layering technique by using several colors to build up the contrast of the piece.

Stage 1: Pencil Drawing

Stage 2: Pencil Drawing and start laying out colors.

Stage 3: Darker colors over the lighter ones to create contrast

Final: White border to be more poresentable.
