moxie

moxie, originally meaning courage, is named after this, hoping that children can also get courage when using injection pens.
Since type 1 diabetes often occurs between 4-7 years old, it's more difficult for children to accept injections.  Therefore, in addition to improving the user experience, the color selection is bright and childlike, and the appearance is biased toward a toy-like design to improve children’s acceptance of injection pens.
The insulin pen for children

The reason for the low acceptance of insulin injection for type 1 diabetes children, not only because of psychological fears, but also the inappropriate existing products for children. Wrong size and unattractive appearance are the main problems that lower acceptance. So the goal of moxie is to bring a better injection experience to the children.
In usability improvements, first, moxie shortens the total length, children could easily press the white injection button at the bottom of the pen body. Since the existing products are all round-tube pen bodies and too thin, it is difficult for children to exert force when using them. Therefore, moxie adds a flat surface on the pen body to provide a force application area. Also, by widening the diameter of the pen body, children could grip the insulin pen tightly and safely.
