Apple of My Eye
Children's clothing store
Current Situation:
Currently there is no existing brand, either online or offline for the environmentally friendly children’s clothing boutique, Apple of my Eye. However, the children’s clothing market is a relatively saturated market which must be kept in mind while designing the brand.

Assignment:
The target goal is to create an identity, stationary system, email newsletter, magazine advertisement, gift card design, packaging look and feel as well as apparel labels and hanging tags.

Target Audience:
The target audience is middle to middle upper-class mothers with children ranging from newborn to five years of age. Or any other person who would be mainly providing for these children. Specifically targeting mothers who care about the environment that their child will be growing up in. Another audience to be considered would be close friends and family who would also be buying gifts for the baby.

Creative Considerations:
The colors chosen for the brand identity are gender neutral so mothers are not quickly turned away by thoughts of it being a gender specific clothing store. Besides carrying clothing for both genders from ages newborn to five they also cater to expecting mothers who do not wish to know the sex of their baby before it is born. This allows them to be prepared for the birth without knowing, also it is suggested if you plan on having multiple children that you have gender neutral basics such as high chair, crib, stroller ect so that if your children are not all the same sex you don’t have to re-buy everything. Besides the logo and the baby neutral line the color palette is composed of muted pinks, blues, beige and green. The pink and blue are very important colors in the first years so people can identify the sex of the baby without question quickly. The design is based around transparencies, delicate design elements, various typography treatments and lifestyle images of children.

Location:
Apple of my Eye could be located anywhere in the world because children and being given birth to all over the world. At this point our store is proposed to be located in up and coming green communities which are popping up all over the united states.
Final colors and typefaces were chosen to represent the earth-friendly qualities of Apple of my Eye. With a spring like palette to represent new life. The final mark was choose due to the organic looking shape and how that tied into how the store wanted to be perceived. Tag line color may be changed to any of the dark colors in the palette.

Because of the earth-friendly quality of the store, I choose to print on Neenah’s Environment paper line in Tortilla 24lb writing.
This would be a full page advertisement in a parenting magazine such as Parenting, Family Circle, and others. Borders could be removed if needed. Other similar pictures would be used for boys advertisement with coordinating copy writing.
