NAMP
Part 1 #1
NAMP (Not Another Music Podcast): a podcast made by Dailynn Middlemiss and Serena Zhang. At the start of each episode they use a word generator to gather five words that they then write into a song. They record the song writing process and then end off each episode with the completed song. I will be designing a logo/cover for their podcast. In the photos below I have written out the main purpose, feeling and values of the podcast. I have also gathered some references for elements that will be put into the logo and some logos that I like.

Part 1 #3
Throughout the designing process I sent a lot of photos and ideas back and forth to make sure that I was making something that was the right fit for the podcast. When we initially discussed it, the only things that they wanted included were a guitar and a retro microphone, both of which you can see featured above. They wanted a black and red kind of concept, so that's what I went with. I found a reference for the guitar and the microphone to get the shapes right and make sure it was a style that they liked. I made a sketch on paper, then a digital one. Once we landed in a concept that everyone liked, I got started on the final digital version. I initially had the background white and the line-art black, but that background looked to empty so I inverted the black and white. The white became the main focal point, so I made it more of a grey so that the focus could be on the red. The red lines in this are representing the wires and cords in a recording setup. Whenever they are recording there are lots of cords running through everything and I wanted to capture that in the logo. I then went online to find a font that I liked for the overall feeling and downloaded it. I added the title and centered everything but it still looked like it was missing something so I added the writing at the bottom to balance it out. After that I sent some pictures to them to get their opinions and they were very happy with it. That is how I got to the final product above.
