GLOSSY KNITS: A Textile and Pattern Manipulation Experiment
The main focus for this experiment was to gain a deeper understanding of how to mix different fabrics together, as well as the difference in aesthetic from simulated finishes.
One key factor I found most interesting in digital fashion simulators such as CLO, is the ability to manipulate conventional fabric properties into theoretical and innovative properties that with additional scientific research, could be possible. I.E: Knitwear that retains the form of a knit structure but acts as a woven garment.
The grainline on the gray knit stripe fabric was manipulated to make the whole silhouette appear as one garment is layered over another, though in reality the garment is a single structure shell with an interior lining attached.
