A project for my design class. The assignment was to create a design of my choice that was going to be printed onto a mousepad.

This design was based off of a tiger drawing I had made in elementary school. I created a sketch of the design I wanted on paper and then placed an image of it in illustrator. I had already preplanned what I wanted the colors to be, being bright and unnatural but cohesive at the same time. I chose a more geometric style with sharp edges and straight lines. I created separate layers for the mouth, head, ears, body, paws, back legs, and tail. I used gradients to create more depth. The leaves also had some separate layers so I could easily apply gradients for a shadow effect.
