Mike Tyson Insists Triology Bout With Evander Holyfield Will Happen In May
Mike Tyson has dismissed rumours by confirming he and Evander Holyfield will complete their long-awaited trilogy on May 29.
Earlier this week it was reported that Tyson allegedly declined a $25 million guarantee for the trilogy fight with Holyfield. The rumors began when Holyfield's manager Kris Lawrence said that talks fell through when it was thought that Tyson's side was not negotiating in good faith.
The heavyweight legends first fought in 1996 in a long-awaited matchup, with both men on comebacks - Holyfield from retirement and Tyson from prison. Holyfield won the bout by 11th round knockout.
The two rematched the next year in what became arguably the most infamous fight in boxing history that saw a frustrated Tyson bite Holyfield on the ears twice, one time removing a portion of the ear. The bout was later dubbed “The Bite Fight”. Since then, Holyfield and Tyson have mended fences and are on good terms with one another personally.

A third bout between the pair -Tyson,58 and Holyfield,54 set for May, has been the source of constant speculation ever since they returned to training last year.
Tyson ended 15 years out of the ring last November for an eight-round exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr, after which Holyfield publicly showed an interest in a third fight with Tyson.
Speaking on Instagram live on Wednesday, Tyson said:
“I just want everybody to know, the fight is on with me and Holyfield. Holyfield’s a humble man, I know that. And he’s a man of God, but I’m God’s man. listen, I’m going to be successful on May 29th.”

Tyson has also shown +interest in Heavyweight bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson fury. He believes his namesake, Tyson fury will be victorious over Joshua
He said:
Listen, you know I love f***ing Joshua,” he said. But I really think this Tyson’s too elusive, he is not gonna hit him. Listen, keeping it honest, I like Joshua a lot. Maybe he punches harder than Wilder, but he doesn’t punch faster than Wilder.
“If he doesn’t punch faster than Wilder, he’s not gonna f***ing touch this guy.that’s just what I think, he punches hard, but he doesn’t punch fast. If Tyson Fury can get away from Wilder’s fast punches, Joshua might be in trouble.”
