This project is about learning 7 strategies that will help in designing and expressing meaningful ideas. Also by doing this I can familiarize ourselves with the key elements and strategies that make a good design. The seven strategies are: combination, juxtaposition, isolation, metaphor/smilie, changing in context or environment, similar physical shape, and change in material or focus. These seven strategies were used to make seven posters, one showcasing each element with the use of photoshop.

1. Combination: This strategy is about bringing together two different or unrelated things to create a new object that still makes some sort of sense.
2. Juxtaposition: This strategy is more about contrast, i.e. showing the differences between two things rather than their similarities.
3. Isolation: This strategy focuses the viewer on an element in a composition by separating it visually from its surroundings or other objects.
4. Metaphor or Simile: This strategy is focused on the meaning of the image created with your object as it relates to something else.
5. Change of Context or Environment: This strategy contrasts objects with unnatural or uncommon environments to highlight a concept or communicate an idea.
6. Physical/Shape Similarity: This strategy uses physical similarities to showcase connections between objects that normally don’t connect.
7. Material Change, Swap, or Focus: This strategy swaps a material property that we are accustomed to with another.

Below showcase each of the posters and why they are successful:
Combination | "The Best Ideas Happen at Night"
This was successful since it is still true to the idea of a light bulb giving out light just in the same way the moon gives light . Making the combination both fun and the idea still remaining .
Juxtaposition | "Heavy Ideas"
This was successful since there was a change from light to heavy, light bulbs are very fragile and light yet when you change it to something heavy it is jarring and unnatural, which highlights the differences instead of the similarities .
Isolation | "Shine brighter than the rest"
This was successful since the bug being such a different shape from the
rest really makes it a strong focal point, yet since they are all similar in colour there is still strong unity with the rest of the piece and it doesn’t feel out of place .
Metaphor or Simile | "Nature's True Light"
This was successful since I touched on a subject that I feel strongly about, I feel that alternate energy is amazing and the whole world should see it more as a normal rather than a “if we can” because nature and God gave us everything so we should use all our resources when one of them is running out .
Change of Context/Environment | "A Light Meal"
This was successful since you do not normally find light bulbs inside avoca- dos so it was a big change, It was also successful since there was the use of isolation and physical shape similarity in this piece along with the main strategy .
Physical/Shape Similarity | "Light Within"
This was successful since my initial idea for this piece was way more un- conventional, yet there is beauty in simplicity and I find that minimalistic is often harder to do than complicated .
Material Change/Swap/Focus | "Inner Light"
This was successful since I not only changed the outside material, I also changed the inner material to make it seem like the light was now a goo- like substance, so I think it makes it interesting .

Thank you for checking out my project! I hope you learned something about the 7 strategies of creativity.
