These are my final outcomes for the above project to conclude my Honours year projects and are final submissions for this project.
Background: Sustainability is something I bring into my practice and my personal life. It is very important to me, not only trying to be sustainable in my life but I also want to help others and show why its important. One of my main focuses in my work is to help educate and promote, I want to create work that is beneficial to people.
When I was in academy, sustainability was not a thing. We never learned about why materials matter or how bad plastic is and we got a brief insight about climate change. Since I left school in 2017 the world has changed and climate change became a much bigger deal. Since 2018 the Scottish government has been making action plans and reports about bringing sustainable education and there are a lot more courses in the Curriculum for Excellence around sustainability and ecology.
The only issue is how new this is, no one has resources for it. This is where my project and dissertation ideas came alive. I knew I wanted to focus on sustainability for my honours folio and show my commit to teaching, so that when I apply to study a PGDE they can see how passionate I am.
Brief: To create visual communicative pieces and resources to help aid in teaching sustainability to the next generation.
