Seven Creative Strategies
Art 235 Project 1
This project was designed to put into practice seven creative strategies. Using one household item, I was tasked with creating seven different design strategies. The strategies used are; combination, juxtaposition, isolation, metaphor/simile, change of context/environment, physical shape similarity, and material swap. Using these strategies provided a unique challenge with an object that required me to think outside the box.
Combination: Bringing two things that are different together to create a new object/image that makes sense.
Juxtaposition: Contrast between to different objects.
Isolation: Specific element that is separated from the rest of the image
Metaphor/Simile: Implies meaning of an image as it relates to something else
Change of Context/Environment: Highlights an idea by contrasting images in an unnatural environment
Physical Shape Similarity: Showcases similarities and connection between objects that don't normally connect
Material Change/Swap/Focus: Changes the normal material that people are familiar with into something else.
