This piece was created in 2019 in my advanced art class in high school. Using charcoal on textured paper, I created this piece to fit the prompt of a still life. Although the object that I used in this piece, the ring, is small compared to the big picture, it symbolizes the impact this heirloom has on me and the ties my family has to me. This piece was accepted to the Grosse Pointe Art Association's "Promising Artists" exhibition in 2020.
