Aldersgate Retreat Center - Historic Cultural Monument

A graduate of the Pacific School of Religion with a master's degree in divinity, Darren Cowdrey serves as a pastor at the California Pacific Conference. Together with his wife, Darren Cowdrey works with individuals and groups of many denominations at the Aldersgate Retreat Center.

A historic home located in the Pacific Palisades, the Aldersgate Retreat Center hosts up to 42 people at a time in dormitory-style rooms. Owned and operated by the United Methodist Church, the retreat center provides a peaceful location for non-profit and other organizations, as well as a lovely venue for weddings, memorials, and meetings. In addition to a chapel with seating for 50, the center boasts several outdoor gardens.

Declared as a historic cultural monument by the City of Los Angeles in 2008, Aldersgate provides convenient access to many natural attractions. Will Rogers State Beach is located less than a mile away, while a 20-minute walk takes visitors to a scenic ocean overlook, where they can watch the sun set and occasionally observe dolphins playing.
