This is a personal project. I have always wanted to redesign the logo for the local fair, so I decided to take on the challenge. The fair is in Fairbanks, Alaska, the land of the midnight sun and is also surrounded by mountains. I brought that into the design with the mountain and the sun with the Ferris wheel in the foreground. I went with a simple modern design that is easily recognized. I wanted to add some fun color to it with the Ferris wheel because, after all, it's a fair!

These are a few preliminary sketches with a few ideas that I feel like represent Fairbanks, Alaska or the fair, specifically. I did a few with the northern lights, fireworks, and the Alaskan flag with the Big Dipper and North Star.
