Everything a Book - Filo

We set out to translate real wind into virtual wind to blow virtual pages

We found that even if real wind was translated accurately, a realistic replication of a bound book still feels artificial

We also realized that letting the pages flip in a clean way, a user-centric design that let them browse at their own pace, made it fall back to being mechanical and predictable

We removed the "spine" altogether, holding the pages loosely so they could fly free

Instead of pages flipping one-by-one for the user's benefit, we let multiple pages fly simultaneously, just like how paper would fly in the wind.

These changes helped us truly express the nature of memories.

Presenting, Filo.
