Copper Meadows is a studio project in which an existing two-level building was provided for students to holistically design a senior living facility for assisted living and memory care residents. The project included incorporating several design features, such as complete ADA-compliant one-bedroom apartments, a hospitality-like atmosphere, amenities and therapeutic spaces such as communal living and dining spaces, salon with massage therapy, gym/yoga studio, snoezelen therapy, a space for meditation, a cafe, and a small on-site clinic just to name a few. A large focus was placed on sustainable FF&E selections and strategies as well as wayfinding based on the concept of the butterfly, which gives residents a space they can peacefully age in place and flutter through their golden years doing what they enjoy.
