The project started as an entry for a tactile books contest, with the sponsorship of Hackability, an italian non-profit organisation that connects people with disabilities and designers.
It is meant to be self-produced by the child's family in any FabLab, costing around 20 euros in materials and manufacturing.
We considered 3D printing at first, but moved to paper, cardboard and MDF to have more sustainable materials and a better feeling to the touch.
