An illustration created in Photoshop because I was absolutely obsessed with Sza's CTRL album. When I first heard her song "Prom," I immediately became inspired! I wanted to make a piece dedicated to that event, that memorable time of high school -- but mostly the feelings associated it. I also knew I wanted to tell an "unconventional" story, one for the queer kids who might've felt out of place at their prom.

The perspective on that chair tripped me up a couple of times! But I much preferred the two of them in this position: together, awkwardly not making eye contact with each other but really wanting to. I also love balloons, but felt the final piece should only have a couple. Overall, I enjoyed the simpler look!
