The goal of this project was to create an automaton toy that portrays a human action. Personally I wanted to challenge myself to create a complex movement with only one crank.
Foam core prototypes:
After 3 prototypes I discovered way to use cams and strings to create a turning and drumming motion simultaneously. I drew the plans for the toy, and laser cut and 3D printed the final pieces.
