Ad redesign - Lateral Thinking

The objective for this exercise was to take an old Indian print ad which belonged to any  time before 1980 and redesign the ad for the same brand relevant to the current times.
The following is a print AD for The Davangere Cotton Mills. The mill was established in 1885.

The Ad is from the 1960s
The redesign process was done considering the relaunch of the brand with a modern purview. The purpose of the ad was to create an image worth remembering, catching the attention of the viewer in a clever way, while preserving the slogan in the Ad "Where traditional turns contemporary."

The redesign was done a year into the Indian general elections, hence borrowing from the political climate of the time.
The concept is that the khadi yarn from the charkha of Mahatma Gandhi is flowing into the khadi Jacket of Mr. Narendra Modi representing the connect from our history to where we are as a modern society but have not forgotten our roots.
