Repurposing with a Purpose

End lot silk dupioni fabric was torn, twisted, and sewn back together to make a silk rippons necklace.  The recycled aluminum cast beads were light enough to not weigh down the rippons necklace.
Rolled and fused scraps of fabric were used to make a necklace cord.  Aluminum cast beads and Ethiopian Prayer boxes were added.  I finished the necklace with an antique button that has been in my collection easily for 15 to 20 years.
Silk Dupioni rippons necklaces with large hole beads, Ethiopian Prayer Boxes, and button clasps.
Coral beads strung with Ugandan paper beads.  Ugandan paper beads are made with scraps of paper, rolled on to sticks with glue.  I support Bead for Life and always buy my paper beads at the following site...
