Australian "Widgie Tavern" Logo Design
The Widgiemooltha Tavern & Roadhouse ('Widgie Tavern') is a quintessential Aussie outback pub and fuel stop located in remote Western Australia, between Kalgoorlie and Esperance. Widgiemooltha is historically famous for the Golden Eagle Nugget, the largest golden nugget ever found in Western Australia, the shape of the nugget resembles an eagle.
The pub offers meals, drinks, accommodation, basic groceries, fuel, etc. It has a really iconic and unique façade, retro/vintage red-yellow look with a cool font. It is surrounded by the outback - red dirt and Eucalypt woodlands.
They are famous for the Widgie Burger (hamburger with the lot), the Widgie Wild Wings Challenge (eat 1kg of spicy wings in less than 10 minutes) and their spicy Outlaw Habanero Sauce. The challenge for the design will be to limit all these elements and create a striking iconic image and logo that encapsulates the retro look and Aussie sentiment of the pub.
