Strange Animals Podcast
Episode 012: The Wyvern, the Basilisk, and the Cockatrice

The Basilisk is a creature of ancient lore that is said to be a "serpent king". For the basilisk itself, I wanted to design it in a way that was kingly. The fins on the side of it's head give it this aesthetic of superiority because most animals (or cryptids) with this feature use it to assert dominance over others of its species.
It is said about the basilisk that one glance could kill a man. This helped me come up with a design for the Instagram story because I wanted to work that into it somehow. I also customized the type with swipes in some of the lettering. As for the website, that was simply putting everything I had together and trimming the eye out for the profile picture. However, seeing as how I only have one vector of the basilisk I wanted to add something else to make the podcast a little more interesting. I put together an image that looked like it came from an ancient book like it was posted from a college website to draw in the listeners.
All effort on the vector image was made to fit the t-shirt design. I figured since I would need to order one for myself I wanted it to look like something relevant to the podcast and cool to wear.
