Packaging is a vessel everything arrives in, it is one of the first things we see as consumers and sometimes is what makes us buy a product. While packaging is always evolving to include younger audiences, those who are disabled or have certain medical conditions typically have fewer options when it comes to purchasing products that are easy for them.
The purpose of this project is to open designers minds to making packaging more accessible to those who have various medical conditions and disabilities. Design helps assist everyone through life, we all choose certain products because they fit a certain value we embrace, or a certain style we like. Though designers design for the people, all too often people with disabilities and medical conditions are overlooked. If designers are able to start designing with these groups in mind it will only start making these companies they design for more diverse and inclusive towards all people.
The packaging includes easy to follow pictograms which make it accessible to those who may not speak the language that's represented on the bottle. It is also textured for the visibly impaired, easy to open for those with dexterity impairment, and colored to make products easily distinguished from one another.
