Street Food
Food for thought...

This project celebrates South African cuisine by emphasising the local street food that is enjoyed amongst various ethnic groups from townships and/ or rural areas. The aim behind the project is to introduce street food to developed areas such as towns and cities to be equally enjoyed by all South Africans.

Street food being your typical walkie talkies (chicken feet), magwinya's (fat cakes) and kota's (filled bread loaf / bunny chow) is unfortunately overlooked as it is labeled as a poor man's dish.

This journal thus raises awareness of the inexpensive yet tasty food that contributes to the truly South African vibrant aura that should be experienced, lived and celebrated within this country. It highlights the importance of human interaction, relationships and food tying it all together.

The journal ends off with two recipes that can be practised in the comfort of your own home - before hitting the streets like a rookie.

At last one will come across two vouchers within the journal to encourage one to take the next step in surprising your tastebuds with a dash of new vibrant flavour.
