The Brexit Circus by Ned Kimber

A glance at my work on satirising Brexit, this project is in the visual language of the circus, drawing parallels between Brexit and the idea of being sold an illusion.
Jeromy Corbyn the mime artist - visualising his passive and unresisting stance against the political movement.

Michael Gove - "The day after we vote to leave, we hold all the cards and we can choose the path we want”. A fabricated statement just like the so called ‘350 million’ we used to send the European Union a week; a claim that Gove himself said was ‘trustworthy.
Here we have David Davis selling his ‘Cotton Candy’, I wanted to visualise Davis’s facade and illustrate his betrayal of British public's trust.
The organ grinder and his monkey. I wanted Farage’s and Gove’s ‘performance’ to be in a home like environment - aimed at the people who could have swayed the vote. I chose Farage to be the organ grinder as he has always been an advocate for the UK leaving the EU, and Gove's vocality on the subject was only pronounced in the lead up to Brexit, however some would argue Gove has acted as the protagonist of the political movement; which is why his physical presence has been emphasised in this piece.
