Made to persuade
Interactive product design
[Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, Central Saint Martins 2018/2019]

Brief
Made a product that will persuade

Respond
I had a problem with too many bags that I own, from plastic bags, tote bags, paper bags etc. It's not the problem with one kind of bags anymore (usually plastic) but it's overall over load and over produced bags in general. In my respond I want to take the satisfaction of ticking things off - sense of satisfaction and success to persuade people to stop consuming more bags but to make the most use out of the ones they already own.

Skills
Product design, Global issue research, Audience needs/ behaviour, Adobe Illustrator, Print.

I use an inkjet printer to print out the design on to transfer paper, then iron it on to the fabric (make sure that you flip it before printing because it's going to mirrored when you iron it on). Then you have it, you could either sew it to your bag or use safety pin then start ticking!
We had a mini exhibition/ open day for the potential future UAL students and parents to get an idea of what we do/ study here. We were giving away our product as well. I got lots of positive feedback on the idea and also very useful feedback from one of the parent saying... the label itself is made out of a fabric which potentially is a waste so maybe consider another product or an alternative to be just the sticker/ the wording that people to attach/print on the bag directly without having another piece of waste.
